VIET FORM TECH Successfully Concludes the 2026 Smart Factory Development Consulting Program

On October 22, 2026, Viet Form Tech Joint Stock Company held the closing ceremony of its 2026 Smart Factory Development Consulting Program, with the participation of representatives from Samsung, the Industrial Development Center (IDC), consulting experts, company management, and employees.

Implemented from May to October 2026 with the support of Samsung and IDC, the Smart Factory Development Consulting Program focused on assessing existing manufacturing operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing practical solutions across production facilities.

The initiative brought together company leadership, production teams, technical specialists, and external consultants to establish a stronger foundation for continuous improvement and future digital transformation.

Key Achievements of the Smart Factory Program

Throughout the implementation period, Viet Form Tech achieved significant improvements in manufacturing productivity, workplace conditions, production organization, and operational management.

1. Improving Packaging Productivity and Operational Efficiency

One of the program’s major achievements was the optimization of the finished-product packaging process through production layout redesign, conveyor system implementation, and improved workflow organization.

The improvements delivered measurable results:

• Packaging productivity increased from 90 kg/hour/person to 130 kg/hour/person, representing approximately 44% growth.
• The operational workforce requirement per packaging line was reduced from 11 to 6.5 people under the first-phase improvement model.
• The upgraded production layout established a foundation for further automation, including automatic carton sealing, material feeding, and weighing systems.

These improvements demonstrate Viet Form Tech’s commitment to reducing non-value-added activities, enhancing production efficiency, and optimizing manufacturing resources.

2. Enhancing the Manufacturing Environment in Cold Forming and Thread Rolling Areas

Creating a cleaner, safer, and more efficient workplace remains an important priority for Viet Form Tech.

As part of the Smart Factory initiative, the company implemented an oil-mist collection and treatment system in its cold forming and thread rolling operations.

The project included the installation of a centralized treatment system, ventilation pipelines, and localized extraction points at production equipment.

According to the project completion report, the system’s collection airflow capacity reached 80,000 m³/hour, compared with the baseline of 15,000 m³/hour.

This improvement represents meaningful progress toward better workplace conditions and more sustainable manufacturing operations.

3. Optimizing Work-in-Progress Management and Storage Capacity

The program also focused on improving work-in-progress (WIP) management across key manufacturing processes, including wire drawing, cold forming, thread rolling, heat treatment, and surface coating.

Dedicated WIP storage areas were established to support more organized material movement, clearer production flows, and improved visual management.

In addition, Viet Form Tech upgraded its threaded-rod storage system from single-level racks to three-level stacking arrangements.

As a result, the reported storage capacity area increased from 150 m² to 320 m², exceeding the original target of 300 m².

These initiatives contribute to improved space utilization, more efficient material handling, and stronger production organization.

4. Strengthening Continuous Improvement Through PRO-3M and 5S3D

Beyond equipment upgrades and production layout improvements, Viet Form Tech recognizes that people and organizational culture are essential to long-term manufacturing excellence.

The company introduced structured continuous improvement activities through PRO-3M and 5S3D methodologies.

A total of 48 on-site improvement items were identified, covering workplace organization, equipment safety, operational standardization, material storage, housekeeping, and production environment improvements.

Regular self-audits, improvement planning, performance reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities were incorporated into the program.

Training sessions were also conducted on topics such as production layout optimization, time studies, line balancing, Smart Factory concepts, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

These activities helped strengthen the capabilities of the company’s core improvement teams and encourage a culture of continuous learning.

Advancing Smart Factory Maturity

One of the most significant outcomes of the program was the improvement in Viet Form Tech’s overall Smart Factory maturity assessment.

According to the final evaluation, the company’s Smart Factory maturity level increased from Level 1.0 to Level 1.6.

Positive developments were recorded across multiple areas, including information systems, equipment management, quality management, automation, and performance management.

The results reflect the benefits of combining practical shop-floor improvements with standardized management practices and technology-oriented manufacturing development.

During the closing ceremony, representatives from Samsung, IDC, and Viet Form Tech reviewed the project’s achievements and discussed the outcomes of the improvement initiatives.

Participants also visited the manufacturing facilities to observe the implemented solutions and their practical applications.
